A 33ª edição do Eisner Awards, prêmio anual entregue aos profissionais que mais se destacaram na indústria dos quadrinhos no ano que passou, foi realizada na última sexta-feira, dia 24 de julho, marcando o primeiro dia da Comic-Con@Home.

Como de costume, os prêmios são entregues como parte da mais tradicional feira de cultura pop mundial, a San Diego Comic-Con. Como o evento está sendo realizado online pelo segundo ano consecutivo devido à pandemia de Covid-19, a cerimônia de entrega do Eisner Awards também ocorreu de maneira virtual, patrocinada pela comiXology e novamente apresentada pelo ator, dublador e humorista norte-americano Phil LaMarr.

Considerado o Oscar dos quadrinhos, o Eisner Awards premia profissionais do ramo em 32 categorias distintas. O grande destaque do evento deste ano ficou com Gene Luen Yang que faturou três prêmios: Melhor Publicação para Crianças e Melhor Adaptação de Outra Mídia para Superman Smashes the Klan (publicado pela DC, com arte de Gurihiru) e Melhor Publicação para Adolescentes por Dragon Hoops (graphic novel publicada pela First Second/Macmillan). A lista de vencedores ainda inclui nomes consagrados da nona arte como Adrian Tomine, Ed Brubaker e Junji Ito.
