A Image Comics lidera a lista de indicações do Eisner Awards 2021, premiação máxima da indústria dos quadrinhos, concorrendo em 32 categorias. A editora tem nomes como Ed Brubaker e Jeff Lemire representando suas publicações (entre elas, Pulp e Gideon Falls), em disputa por prêmios como Melhor Série Contínua, Melhor Minissérie e Melhor Roteirista. Outra que conquistou um expressivo número de nomeações, 19 ao todo, é a DC Comics. A editora, por meio do selo DC Black Label, concorre, dentre outras categorias, a Melhor Minissérie e Melhor Artista ou Equipe de Artistas por Strange Adventures, do celebrado  Tom King em parceria com os ilustradores Mitch Gerads e Evan “Doc” Shaner. Bowie: Stardust, Rayguns & Moonage Daydreams, graphic novel que narra a ascensão e os percalços na carreira de um dos nossos músicos favoritos, David Bowie, disputa três prêmios: Melhor Artista, Melhor Colorista e Melhor Letrista.

Os indicados à premiação foram anunciados na última quarta-feira, dia 9, por meio do site da San Diego Comic Con. A entrega dos Prêmios Eisner é realizada tradicionalmente durante esse que é o mais famoso e pioneiro dos eventos geeks pelo mundo. Este ano, os vencedores do Eisner serão revelados em 23 de julho, data oficial da edição 2021 da SDCC.
