Na quinta-feira, 13 de julho, foram anunciados os indicados à 69ª edição do Emmy Awards, a premiação máxima da televisão que promove e elege as melhores produções da telinha. Westworld lidera o número de indicações, sendo a franca favorita neste ano, uma vez que Game of Thrones (recordista de prêmios, totalizando 106 indicações e 38 vitórias para o currículo dos produtores) está fora da jogada devido à data de estreia que a tornou inelegível. A produção da HBO que mescla western e ficção científica concorre em 22 categorias. Já Feud e o hit Stranger Things estão na disputa por 18 estatuetas, cada.

O momento de comoção nas redes sociais se deu após o anúncio da indicação póstuma da atriz Carrie Fisher que concorre por sua participação na série Catastrophe como melhor atriz convidada em série de comédia.

E, uma coisa é certa, Netflix está definitivamente dominando o Emmy 2017.

A cerimônia de entrega dos prêmios será transmitida diretamente do Microsoft Theater em Los Angeles, no domingo, 17 de setembro, pela emissora CBS e terá como anfitrião o ator e apresentador Stephen Colbert.
